Responsibilities:

• Ensure that sub-agreements, W-9’s and insurance certificates are on file for all subcontractors working at properties.
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of related management experience
• Self- starter with problem solving and organizational skills
• Professional communication skills to develop effective relationships with homeowners, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Leadership to bring projects in on time and at budget.
• Proficient in MS excel, outlook, word.
• MSProject experience, a plus
• Clean Driver’s License

Position:

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This newly created position will play a key role in the organization as it embarks on a planned industry leading expansion and facility upgrade, resulting in a much-enhanced programming schedule across all disciplines. The ideal candidate will have relevant non-profit experience and will be a key team member. The position is hands on with high exposure to the executive team, working on all phases of the accounting function. Key Functions:

Ensure the accuracy of accounting records by verifying and posting transactions

Prepare bank reconciliations

Perform month end close duties including journal entries and account analysis

Process payroll (ADP) and employee benefits

Prepare payroll journal entries

Prepare weekly cash report and cash requirements for Executive review

Assist Development staff with financial information for grants

Prepare Sales tax returns for monthly filing

Maintain fixed asset schedules and record depreciation

Support Chief Financial Officer and Executive team on ad hoc analyses, financial requests

Provide budget analysis and interpretation in support of staff

Key team member in annual audit, financial statements, and preparation of Form 990 with external audit firm

Key stakeholder in the implementation of a new fully integrated arts enterprise software

Assist with the development and maintenance of documented accounting policies and

procedures

Other administrative duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

Minimum 2-3 years of experience, non-profit, or public accounting experience with non- profit clients

Experience working with Financial Edge and ADP payroll software, as well as proficiency in MS Office, Word and Excel

Must have attention to detail and ability to accurately and clearly document work

Strong communications skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality

Status:

Land Preservation Coordinator

Full-time position. Are you passionate about preserving farms, natural lands and the rural character of Southold Town? Are you interested in a career in land conservation?

The Coordinator will oversee, manage, and administer the Land Preservation Department, the Town’s farmland and open space acquisition program and the Town’s Community Preservation Fund.

The Coordinator will work in an advisory capacity to the Town Board and the Town’s Land Preservation Committee, and will interact and work with applicants, landowners, attorneys, Planning Staff, other Town Departments, Boards and Committees, and other governmental and non-profit agencies and organizations.

Candidates must be enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently; skilled at reading maps, plans and interpreting spatial data; have excellent reading comprehension and writing skills; have a basic understanding of appraisals, surveys and real estate transactions; have experience in land preservation, conservation planning, natural resource management,
conservation tools, property acquisition, environmental policy or environmental law. Additional desired qualifications include knowledgeable about agriculture and natural resources, a basic understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) (ESRI ArcMap) and experience with legislative code.

choral society seeks music director

CHORAL SOCIETY SEEKS MUSIC DIRECTOR–  The Choral Society of the Hamptons is seeking a permanent part-time music director whose term will commence February 2023.

In collaboration with the Choral Society’s board of directors and administrative director, the music director will be responsible for a minimum of two concerts per year: conducting rehearsals, auditioning new singers, establishing schedules and budgets, setting objectives and selecting programming repertoire.

A successful candidate for the Music Director position must be a strong communicator both musically and verbally, have a deep knowledge of classical choral music and inspire a supportive and high-quality musical environment. This individual will be strategically-minded, detail-oriented, self-aware and flexible, with a sense of humor and a passion for collaboration. Strong command of vocal and choral performance techniques and choral conducting experience is preferred.

Founded in 1946, The Choral Society of the Hamptons, an auditioned mixed-voice ensemble of 50+ volunteers, is one of the oldest arts organizations on the East End of Long Island. The group performs three concerts a year accompanied by professional orchestras and soloists. The Choral Society is professionally-managed and funded through ticket sales, donations and grants and has a rich history of commissioning new works and supporting local students through vocal scholarships.
