Joseph ‘Jo Jo’ Froelich Sr. Of Bridgehampton Dies May 6

Joseph “Jo Jo” Froehlich Sr. died at his home in Crescent City, Florida, on May 6, 2018, with his family at his side.

Mr. Froehlich and his wife, Catherine, moved to Crescent City in 1962, from Bridgehampton. In both Bridgehampton and Florida, he maintained potato farms and would travel to each farm according to the growing season. He was a member of the Northeast Florida Growers Exchange; the Lions Club; Crescent City Rotary Club, of which he was the honored recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow Award; Eagles #4435 of Ormond Beach; and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 2577 of Palm Coast. He was also an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus of Crescent City. In New York he was a member of the Bridgehampton Fire Department for 35 years.

Mr. Froelich was predeceased by his wife in 2009. He is survived by his sons, Joseph “Joey” (Diane) Froehlich of Crescent City, John (Julie) Froehlich of Bridgehampton, and Jay Froehlich of Florida; a sister, Rose (Jack) Troy of Centereach; and sister-in-law, Gloria (Harry “Henry”) Rossi of Pennsylvania; his companion of eight years, Grace Mew of Crescent City; grandchildren, Jeremy (Courtney) Froehlich, James Froehlich, Jade Froehlich, Havyn Froehlich, Jason Busler (Paul Mulligan), Michael (Carla) Busler, and John Davenport; and two great grandchildren, Evelyn and Addison Busler.

A funeral Mass took place on May 9 in Florida. Burial was at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Clayton Frank & Biggs Funeral Home, Crescent City, Florida. Online condolences may be left to biggsfh.com.

Choral Society Announces Auditions

The Choral Society of the Hamptons will hold auditions in May for all singing parts — soprano, alto, tenor, bass — for singers interested in joining the group prior to the Choral Society’s next concert on Saturday, June 29, at the Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church.
