Ronald Ophneil Farmer Of Westhampton Beach Dies March 3

Ronald “Ron” Andrew Ophneil Farmer of Westhampton Beach died on Friday, March 3, 2017. He was 56.

Originally from Weston, St. James, Barbados W.I, Mr. Farmer moved to Westhampton Beach with his family in 1973. He attended Westhampton Beach Schools, graduating in 1979. At Westhampton Beach High School, he was a member of the wrestling and football teams.

Mr. Farmer began his long career in plumbing after attending the State University of New York at Delhi, studying plumbing, air conditioning and heating.

Throughout the years, he became a well-known and respected member of the Westhampton Beach community. He was active in sports, playing on various local volleyball and softball teams. He loved the outdoors, especially the water and the beaches of Barbados.

Mr. Farmer is survived by three children, Michael, Jessica and Ryan; his parents, Cephas and Carmine Farmer; sisters and their spouses, Virla (Al), Evette (John), Angela (June), and a brother, Richard; and many nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as dear friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 12, at Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach, from 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., with a memorial service at 8 p.m.
