Frederick C. Cooper of Hampton Bays died on October 15 at the Medford Multicare Center, after a long illness. He was 80 and a retired New York State Trooper.
Mr. Cooper was a member of the Association of Former New York State Troopers and the Suffolk County Detective Investigators Association.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Bodkin); his children, Lorraine M. Mujsce and husband Kenneth of Hampton Bays, John Cooper of Hampton Bays, Susan Whitbeck and husband Edward of Mt. Sinai, Thomas Cooper and wife Vickie of Quogue, and Daniel Cooper and wife Jennifer of Hampton Bays; and 10 grandchildren, Jaclyn Mujsce, Maddie Cooper, Samantha Cooper, Jack Cooper, Kevin Whitbeck, Edward Whitbeck, Stephanie Whitbeck, Joshua Cooper, Lily Cooper and Christopher Cooper; and a brother, Lawrence Cooper of Massapequa.
Visiting was at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on October 18. A funeral Mass took place on October 19 at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays, followed by interment at Good Ground Cemetery, with U.S. Navy honors.
