Rudolph “Rudy” Puccio of Hampton Bays died on June 17. He was 92.
Mr. Puccio was born on November 5, 1922, in New York City, and served in World War II as a military policeman in the United States Army. He received a Purple Heart for an injury sustained in France near the end of the war. During his career as a lithographer, he worked in New York City. He married Lillian Cleere on June 7, 1947, and remained happily married for 60 years, survivors said.
During his retirement, Mr. Puccio and his wife moved to St. Augustine, Florida, and spent part of each summer on Long Island, staying with his daughter. He loved having family visits and seeing his children and grandchildren during these summer visits. He had resided in Hampton Bays since 2008.
Mr. Puccio is survived by five children; 13 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and extended family of sisters-in-law and cousins.
A private funeral Mass will be held at the Church of St. Rosalie in Hampton Bays, followed by burial at Calverton National Cemetery.
