John J. Kametler of Manorville died on June 11. He was 51.
Born on September 3, 1963, in Fort Dix, New Jersey, Mr. Kametler served his country in the first Gulf War as a member of the U. S. Navy on the Midway and received various medals of distinction.
He was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Cora Kametler, and his oldest brother, Michael Joseph. He is survived by siblings James and wife Carol, Robert and wife Kim, and Kathleen and husband Richard; nieces and nephew, Heather, Bobby, Krissy and Stephanie; and a great-niece and great-nephew.
A funeral service with Navy honors will be held at Calverton National Cemetery on Wednesday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
