Edward Slodki died at his Southampton home on July 26. He was 89.
Born in Poland on September 26, 1924, he came to the United States in 1949 and settled in Southampton.
Mr. Slodki met the love of his life, Lena Kehl, a nurse at Southampton Hospital, while he was an orderly. They married on April 18, 1953. He was employed as a butcher for many years and once he retired he enjoyed his hobbies of gardening, raising his pigeons and taking his daily walks, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, survivors said.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Slodki is survived by two daughters, Mary Slodki and Susan Raynor and husband Daniel; two granddaughters, Danielle Raynor and Kelly D’Angelo and husband Michael.
A funeral Mass was held at Our Lady of Poland Church on July 31, followed by burial at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton.
