Alice (Terchun) Turchun died in her sleep on August 23 at her home in Riverhead, after a brief illness. She was 81.
Ms. Turchun was born on December 11, 1932, in the Bronx to Jacob and Sophia Terchun, who had both fled Turkey for freedom in the United States. She had retired from Owens Illinois Company of Lexington, Kentucky, where she worked for many years as an administrative assistant, and she also lived in Westhampton Beach for many years.
Ms. Turchun was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Ara and Vahe; and by a sister, Seta. She is survived by nephews and nieces, Edward Terchunian, Kent Terchunian, Tyrone Terchunian, Dean Terchunian, Rosemary Cline, Aram Terchunian and Toqui Terchunian, all formerly or presently of Westhampton Beach, and Alex Torossian, Diane Torossian Weber and Kevork Torossian, all formally or presently of Niskayuna, New York, and their families, as well as her dear friends, Stephanie and Wayne Battaglia.
Services were held at the Follett and Werner Funeral Home on August 27.
