Patrick J. Magee of Southampton and Jupiter, Florida, died on February 22 in Jupiter after suffering a stroke on February 10. He was 87.
Mr. Magee was born in the Bronx to the late James and Mary (McMahon) Magee from Belfast, Ireland, on September 14, 1926. He graduated from Rice High School. After serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II, he received his bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in 1951. In 1949 he married Mary (Conklin) Magee, who predeceased him, and they lived together in Plandome, before relocating to Southampton and Jupiter.
He is survived by 12 of his 13 children, Kathleen Ziccardi and husband Richard, Maureen Quinn and husband Michael, James P. Magee and wife Winifred, Kevin T. Magee and wife Cynthia; Theresa Magee and husband Ralph Othouse, Brian Magee and wife Resurreccion, Tara Sommese and husband Robert, Sheila Torres and husband Vincent, Ann Marie Cornacchio and husband Carmine, Patrick M. Magee and wife Christine, Siobhan Magee, and Michael T. Magee and wife Ellyn. He is also survived by a son-in-law, George Shaughness; 34 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Magee; and a daughter, Eileen Magee Shaughness in 2008.
A memorial Mass was held at Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church in Jupiter on February 25 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held at Fairchild Sons Funeral Home in Manhasset on Thursday, February 27, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Manhasset on Friday, February 28, at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne. A luncheon will follow in the Bronx.
