Robert Harold Culver Sr. died on October 18 at the Westhampton Care Center. He was 89.
Born on October 1, 1924, to Harold and Ethel Culver of Westhampton Beach, he graduated from Westhampton Beach High School and received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He was a registered architect, as well as a professor in the construction technology department at SUNY Farmingdale for many years.
Mr. Culver served his country during World War II in the United States Navy, in the Pacific Theater, earning both the Distinguished Flying Cross and an Air Medal.
He is survived by a son, Robert H. Culver Jr. of Westhampton Beach; a daughter, Laurie Bumpus of Baldwinsville; a brother, Harold Culver of Peconic; sisters, Ethel Clark of Skaneateles and Virginia Gilmore of Westhampton; as well as four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Lorene Cyphers and Clara Hulse.
Funeral services were private.
