William Gray Wasson of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, died on Thursday, January 1, at the home of a friend in Siloam Springs. The grandson of Virginia Matula of Westhampton, he was 17.
A lifetime resident of Siloam Springs, and a junior at Siloam Springs High School, he was born on October 22, 1991, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to Danny Wasson and Carolyn Appleby Fagan Wasson. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Siloam Springs, and enjoyed fishing and the outdoors, spending time with friends, and playing with his dog Lucy.
William is survived by his father, Danny Wasson of Siloam Springs; his mother, Carolyn Wasson of Fayetteville; his stepmother, Lyn of Siloam Springs; a sister, Bryn Wasson of Siloam Springs; a stepbrother, Collin Stancomb of Cincinnati, Arkansas; paternal grandparents, Bob and Sharon Wasson of Siloam Springs; maternal grandmother and step-grandfather, Virginia Matula and Richard Matula of Westhampton; maternal grandfather, DuVal Fagan of Springdale, Arkansas; paternal step-grandmother, Mary Rosewicz of Cincinnati, Arkansas; paternal aunt, Carla Wasson of Siloam Springs; maternal uncle, Mike Fagan of Springdale, Arkansas; maternal aunt, Virginia Smith of Helena, Arkansas; paternal great-uncle and great-aunt, Steven and Paula Allen of Little Rock; and eight cousins, Drew, Nate, Virginia and Caroline Smith all of Helena, Arkansas, Anna and Allison Fagan of Springdale, and Randall Davidson and Meggin Warpinski of Little Rock.
Pallbearers included Cory Jenison, Tyler Littlejohn, Paul Abbey, Jonathan Biswell, Chris Evans, Zack Hudson, Sawyer Evans, Cody Welch, Drew Smith, Nate Smith and Cory Greenhaw.
A wake was held at Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam Springs on January 4. A funeral service was held at the Cathedral of the Ozarks Chapel at John Brown University and interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Siloam Springs.
