A year after two conflict-laden votes that sunk the Wainscott School District’s budget and forced deep cuts in its educational programming, voters this year will be asked to approve a budget that is “back to normal,” as School Board Chairman David Eagan put it recently. The $4.87 million operating budget proposed for the 2024-25 school year is just a half-percent increase in spending over the austere budget imposed on the district last year because of the failed votes.
