Open Our Eyes

By now, everyone in the world is familiar with that infamous “perfect” telephone call on July 25, 2019, between our dotard-in-chief and the president of Ukraine, in which bribery, extortion and shakedown were discussed at length.

I found it interesting that the actual rough translation was locked down in a secret server designated for national security secrets. So much for transparency.

But here’s the thing: The White House has offered the public a transcript of previous conversations between these two individuals from April, three months earlier!

Am I the only one who sees absolutely no relevance whatsoever between these two phone calls?

I was a Russian history major in school who remembers Operation Barbarossa, whereby the Russians and Germans had signed a non-aggression pact, only to have Germany invade the Soviet Union shortly thereafter. Maybe this one is better: Imagine Lizzy Borden writing an endearing Mother’s Day letter to her mother, only to chop off her head three months later.

How about Michael Corleone sitting in church, celebrating his child’s baptism, while his minions are neutralizing his enemies?

Is it too much to ask that we, as a nation, collectively open our eyes and see this cruel and fraudulent charlatan-in-chief for the serial-lying monster that he is?
