Carmine Martino, 94

Carmine Martino, formerly of Noyac, died in the Bronx on October 9, 2019.

Born to Elvira and Cosimo Martino on July 22, 1925, Mr. Martino was a graduate of Hunter College. He became a teacher and then supervisor of learning disabled children for the New York City Board of Education.

Mr. Martino married Angela Luongo in 1951 and the couple had three children: Celeste, Damian and Elvira Shanahan. He was a grandfather and great grandfather to nine children and is survived by his brother, Al, of North Haven.

Mr. Martino served in the U.S. Air Force in World War II and when living in Noyac was a member of the Sag Harbor American Legion.

Funeral services were held in the Bronx and burial was at Calverton National Cemetery.
