Fall Winds Chamber Music Courtesy Of BCMF December 5

authorStaff Writer on Nov 23, 2020

Winter is creeping up on us, and though concert venues are still closed to in-person programming, that doesn’t mean the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival is throwing in the towel and going into hibernation. Instead, BCMF created “Autumn Series at Home,” a three-concert season.

The last of the three online programs, “Fall Winds,” is coming up on Saturday, December 5, at 5 p.m., and offers a blustery program of music featuring Mozart’s sparkling “Oboe Quartet, K. 370,” Elizabeth Brown’s beguiling “Liguria for Flute, Clarinet, Violin, Cello and Piano,” and Louise Farrenc’s sumptuously romantic “Sextet for Winds and Piano.”

Artists for the final concert are: Marya Martin, flute; Kemp Jernigan and James Austin Smith, oboe; Tomasso Lonquich, clarinet; Peter Kolkay, bassoon; Stewart Rose, horn; Ani Kavafian and Tessa Lark, violin; Ettore Causa, viola; Mihai Marica and Peter Stumpf, cello; and Juho Pohjonen, piano.

To reserve for the program, visit bcmf.org. Though the concert is free, patrons are asked to support the festival with a donation, not only to support the ongoing work of BCMF, but also BCMF’s Musician Fund. The pandemic has had a profound impact on the lives of musicians, and festival organizers say they feel BCMF must support them in these difficult times.
