What’s In A Name?

The Republican Party is now often referred to as the “party of Trump,” although we still are using words and phrases such as “Republican members of Congress,” or “the Republican National Committee,” or “Republicans” oppose this bill or that bill.

“The Republican Party” elicits images of steadfast bankers, marble halls, small government, honest men (yes, men) in three-piece suits — not gun-toting female QAnon believers.

I think it’s time for a new name for the party, a name that is less confusing to all Americans.

How about Trump Party? Trump might like this, as his name is front and center, but it doesn’t really capture the essence of the party.

The Insurrectionist Party isn’t bad. The Spineless Party, the Treasonist Party, the Lyin’ Party. The White Supremacist Party — not bad.

The Take America Back to the Fifties, Forget About the Last Seventy Years Party? Much too long, and most people were born way past the Fifties.

The Suppress the Vote Party. The Forget Democracy Party.

I am sure you can all come up with more appropriate names than the Republican Party, and to get the ball rolling on a new name, would you please send your suggestions to:
