The Church will host a morning Meet and Greet with Sheri L. Pasquarella, the organization’s new executive director, on Saturday, August 13, at 10 a.m. followed by an 11 a.m. conversation between Pasquarella and The Church’s chief curator, Sara Cochran. This event is free and open to the public.

The meet and greet will allow all members of the community to chat with Pasquarella in a casual, welcoming environment. The event will be held on the ground floor level. Coffee and breakfast treats will be served.

Immediately following, Pasquarella and Cochran will discuss their respective past professional experiences, the future of The Church, and the cultural history and landscape of Sag Harbor and the East End, and reflect upon the role of art and creativity in community. This will be followed by a Q&A.

“Returning to the East End of Long Island after more than two decades working in New York City is a thrill and profound honor,” said Pasquarella who grew up on the South Fork. “I look forward to meeting the artists, neighbors, friends, and supporters and welcome their questions, thoughts and ideas. I admire the work that Sara has pioneered with Eric and April, and look forward to a bright future together.”

“I am greatly looking forward to working with Sheri to forward the role of The Church as an artistic center for our community and our region,” Cochran added. “After the tremendous first year, we are ready to start shaping the institution in more direct ways. This is an exciting time to hold this conversation and work toward a shared future.”

For the past 17 years, Sheri Pasquarella owned and led SLP, a Manhattan-based consultancy that provided services across the international arts ecosystem, including an art advisory and business and strategic advisement to artists, galleries, nonprofits, museums and design businesses. SLP will close in September 2022. She is originally from the East End of Long Island, and her first-ever job was at Guild Hall in 1996.

The Church is at 48 Madison Street, Sag Harbor. For more information visit thechurchsagharbor.org.
