Albies in the Spotlight for Research

Albies, as fishermen refer to the fish known as a little tunny or false albacore, have become an economically important gamefish along the entire East Coast. But they are unregulated and little is known about their biology, population size and migratory habits. The American Saltwater Guides Association began a tagging and research program this year that they hope will begin to shed some light on such mysteries, and help guide fisheries regulators toward crafting some legal protection for the species.
