On Saturday, February 4, from 2 to 5 pm, Westhampton Fine Wine in Westhampton Beach will host a tasting event to debut a new private label wine created by the East End’s own Irena Patar.

Patar, a resident of East Quogue, developed the “Single Married Divorced” sparkling wine brand, featuring high-quality product from France’s Loire Valley to encourage people to celebrate life, and who they are, regardless of their relationship status.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner and International Women’s Day coming up on March 8, Patar believes all should stand proud and celebrate who they are.

“I think it’s paramount that each person celebrate their own identity, and not let their relationship status define them,” she says. “And what better way to celebrate than with bubbles!”

Patar notes that, especially over the past few years, between the pandemic, inflation, politics and more, being in any relationship isn’t easy. But she chooses to take a positive view of the world and believes it’s still possible to sustain and celebrate love — for someone else or yourself. Her wine, she says, is for everyone in every category of relationship.

The wines:

Single - Celebrate your status with a bottle of “Single,” and tell people to stop asking all the if/when relationship questions. If you are in a relationship, sometimes you need a “singles” night out with friends. Own it and celebrate it.

Married - If you’re “Married,” keep the fire going, or rekindle it … or maybe even pop the question by popping a cork of this wine.

Divorced - Celebrate the conclusion of a relationship with a bottle of “Divorced.” Or maybe you’re coming to grips with a relationship status that has been thrust upon you? Or maybe you’ve been married a while and need an extended (yet faithful) break from your partner. Pop open a bottle and celebrate who you are and how you feel right now.

Gluten-Free Cookies From Tates

Tate’s Bake Shop has launched its Gluten-Free Lemon Cookie, combining the signature crispy, buttery consistency that defines Tate’s cookies with a fresh, citrusy lemon twist — all without the gluten.

Tate’s remains focused on expanding its portfolio to meet the evolving needs and tastes of a dedicated fan-base. The company first introduced a gluten-free variety of their signature chocolate chip cookies more than a decade ago, and in 2021 debuted vegan varieties as well.

Tate’s Gluten Free Lemon Cookies ($5.99) are certified gluten free by the National Celiac Association and certified Kosher by the Orthodox Union. The cookies are available in stores nationwide, as well as on Amazon, Walmart and tatesbakeshop.com.

Winter Nights at Coche Comedor

Coche Comedor is hosting Las Noches De ¡Salud! every Tuesday through Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. and each week, diners can enjoy $15 flights of margaritas complete with small plates crafted by Chef Juan Juarez. The selections will change weekly and the promotion will be offered in the bar area only.

“Anybody who’s weathered a winter out east is familiar with this stretch we’re in now where we collectively wonder if we’ll ever see another daffodil bloom. We can all surely use some ‘funning’ up, and Coche’s spacious bar and sunny offerings remind us that Memorial Day is coming,” says Honest Man’s Beverage Director Chimene Macnaughton of these evenings.

Dinner Specials at The Bell & Anchor

The Bell & Anchor in Sag Harbor will offer daily specials every Tuesday through Sunday beginning at 5:30 p.m. The specials are available for dine in only: Tuesday is Pork Milanese Night and $36 includes a choice of appetizer and Milanese. Wednesday is Lobster Night with a choice of appetizer and lobster garganelli for $42, steamed lobster with haricots verts and fingerling potatoes for $65, or butter poached lobster tail with grilled filet mignon and fingerling potatoes for $72. Thursday is Bouillabaisse Night with a choice of appetizer and bouillabaisse for $48. Sunday is Moules Frites Night with a choice of appetizer and mussels for $34.

Appetizer selections include home port chowder, Caesar salad, arugula salad served with crispy goat cheese, tuna poke (+$6) or burrata (+$5) served with roasted figs, pomegranate seeds and truffled-balsamic reduction. Dessert can be added to any meals for an additional $6.
