Montauk Sewer Plan on Hold After County Parks Board Rejects Land Swap

The Suffolk County Parks Trustees rejected a pitch by East Hampton Town officials, including Natural Resource Director Kim Shaw, left, and Melissa Winslow, to swap 18 acres of land off East Lake Drive in Montauk in exchange for 14 acres of county parkland adjacent to the Montauk landfill, which could be used for a new septic treatment plant to service a Montauk sewer system.
