A residence that dates back to 1902 in the Georgica Association in Wainscott has hit the market for $17 million.

The historic structure was originally built to be the stable and carriage house for a larger estate, according to Sotheby’s International Realty. An original horse stall now serves as a TV room, and the residence also retains a windmill, minus the blades, with a third-floor bonus room. The home is divided into two distinct living areas with space for entertaining and additional private nooks.

The listing states that the 6,600-square-foot shingled home on 2.7 acres with “old majestic trees” is essentially unchanged, aside from modest interior renovations and exterior repairs. The home features a sun-filled great room with a grand fireplace, floor-to-ceiling glass doors, seven bedrooms, five full bathrooms and two half-baths, plus two kitchens.

The property also offers a detached greenhouse, a shed, a one-car detached garage and room for pool and tennis.

The Georgica Association is a gated community with guarded entry, a private beach with a lifeguard and pavilion, four tennis courts and access to sailing, kayaking and paddleboarding on Georgica Pond.

Jenny Landey and Eve Combemale of the Sotheby’s Bridgehampton office have the listing.
