Quogue Gallery is celebrating its 10th year and will soon be transitioning to a new model. With the gallery’s long-arm now reaching global audiences in the U.K., Canada, Europe and Asia, owners Chester and Christy Murray have announced that moving forward, they will be closing the brick-and-mortar part of their gallery at the end of this summer season.

“The good news is that we will be embracing a new approach to our business by transitioning to an exclusively online platform,” said the Murrays in a statement. “Although our physical doors will be closing at the end of the summer season, our new online gallery doors will swing wide open this fall.

“We attribute the gallery’s success to our ever-supportive community of Quogue, global friends of the gallery and to the exceptional artists who have graced its walls,” said the Murrays in a press release. “We are proud that the gallery’s program in the modern and contemporary art world has been acknowledged by the press and other media sources. It has been featured in notable publications, including The New York Times, Artnet News, The Southampton Press, Dan’s Papers, Beach Magazine, Newsday, Hamptons Art Hub, Luxe Magazine, New York Post and more.

The new online gallery will serve as a virtual space where fans of the gallery can continue to explore, appreciate and acquire artwork from Quogue Gallery’s staple of established and emerging artists. In addition, the gallery will continue to provide art advisory and consultancy services and remain a partner in building collections.

But with the summer season now upon us, the gallery is still operating in person and it has an exciting group of shows coming up.

“Celebration of Water,” which opened Memorial Day weekend, is a collection of water interpretations featuring works by Barbara Vaughn, Barbara Ernst Prey, Marshall Crossman, Eugene Healy, Robin Koffler, Susan Leness Gilbert, Bob Paul Kane, and Bud Holman.

In July, Quogue Gallery will present the long awaited solo exhibition of Stuart Disston entitled, “Where It Lies Beneath.” The show will feature colorful paintings rooted in nature.

In August, the gallery will feature the paintings of contemporary artist Kinga Czerska whose work is enigmatic, balanced, subtle and atmospheric, not only in the nature of the paintings themselves, but also in how they interact with surrounding spaces and light.

The season will end with an Abstract Expressionist group exhibition featuring the work of Harry Bertschman, Raymond Hendler, Emerson Woelffer, Adolph Gottlieb, Vincent Pepi, Melinda Zox and others.

“We look forward to raising a glass with all of you at these exciting upcoming events,” the Murrays added. “We want to express our sincere gratitude and thank all of you for your support and patronage over the years. We look forward to continuing our personal voyage in art with you.”

Quogue Gallery is at 44 Quogue Street in Quogue. For more information, visit quoguegallery.com.
