Frank Olender
Frank Olender of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and formally of Southampton, died on March 18. He was 67.
A tough man through and through, his family said, his journey was marked by perseverance and strength.
He earned an accounting degree at C.W. Post and dedicated over 35 years of his life to serving as a financial advisor at Wells Fargo, earning him the title of first vice president. His no-nonsense approach and unwavering commitment earned him respect and admiration from all who crossed his path.
Despite his gruff exterior, his heart was as big as they come, his family said. To his family, he was affectionately known as “Cranky Uncle Franky,” a moniker that captured his unique blend of tough love and unwavering loyalty. He may have teased relentlessly, but his love for his family knew no bounds.
Tennis was his true passion. He approached the game with the same tenacity and grit that defined every aspect of his life. Those closest to him knew how much he loved the sport.
His death leaves a void that cannot be filled, his family said. His sharp wit, hearty laughter, and one-of-a-kind personality will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Jozef and Zofia Olender; his brother, Stanley Olender; and his sister, Sophie Olender. He is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Olender Schulze; his two sons, Brandon and Devon Olender; his sister, Manya Olender Murphy; two brothers, Tony and Henry Olender; nine nieces and nephews; and 11 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Poland Church in Southampton at 10 a.m. on April 27. Interment will follow at Sacred Hearts Cemetery.
