A year after two conflict-laden votes that sunk the Wainscott School District’s budget and forced deep cuts in its educational programming, voters this year will be asked to approve a budget that is “back to normal,” as School Board Chairman David Eagan put it recently. East Hampton Town Police stationed extra police officers at East Hampton High School on Wednesday morning following what turned out to be an inaccurate rumor circulated that a student had threatened to bring a gun to the school in the wake of a conflict between two students.
