Clay Art Guild Selling Handmade Goods for Charity

The Clay Art Guild of the Hamptons will hold its annual charity yard sale on Sunday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 72 High Street in Sag Harbor. The Retreat and Water Mill Museum will be the beneficiaries of this year’s sale proceeds. Handmade pottery by local artists will be sold, which will include mugs, plates, vases, dishes and more. The Bridgehampton Museum has set its second annual Community Stars event for Saturday, June 8, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Nathaniel Rogers House, 2539 Montauk Highway, in Bridgehampton. American Legion Auxiliary To Distribute Poppies at Memorial Day Parade in Sag Harbor

The Chelberg and Battle American Legion Auxiliary of Sag Harbor will be distributing handmade “poppies,” a symbol recognizing the sacrifice of those who have served their country, along the Memorial Day parade route in Sag Harbor and at the legion hall on Bay Street. While the poppies, which are crafted by disabled veterans, are free, donations are accepted and will support veterans activities offered through American Legions. Time To ‘Adopt-a-Patch’

The Friends of the Long Pond Greenbelt is again offering an opportunity for residents to Adopt-a-Patch at Vineyard Field, behind the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton. The goal of the program is to restore the field, which has been overgrown with invasive autumn olive shrubs. Adopt-a-Patch was initiated in 2021 in which a volunteer is allotted a section of the field (their “patch”) where they will cut back any new sprouts at least once a month during the growing season. Local Hospitals Earn LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equity Designation

All Stony Brook Medicine hospitals, including Stony Brook Southampton Hospital, and all Northwell Health hospitals, including Peconic Bay Medical Center, have been named “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leaders” for 2024 in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI).
