Sag Harbor Cinema continues its “Projections” series on Sunday, April 28, from 1 to 3 p.m., with the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF). This event is free to the public and will feature a panel discussion “Bark the Question: A Lesson in Dog Myths & Training,” from 1 to 2 p.m., and a pet adoption event at Steinbeck Park, from 2 to 3 p.m.

Featured speakers will include ARF-affiliated certified professional dog trainers Veronica Grzybowska, Cindy LeRoy, Amy Kurtz, as well as Caryl Glaab, director of training programs at the William P. Rayner Training Center at ARF. Sag Harbor Cinema’s board member April Gornik will moderate the discussion and the Q&A that follows.

After the discussion, attendees will walk to Steinbeck Park where the ARF Adoption Van will be on-site with dogs and cats looking for forever homes. “Projections” attendees, who will have to reserve a seat through the Sag Harbor Cinema website, will receive a complimentary Sag Harbor Cinema pet bandanna.

Sag Harbor Cinema founded the “Projections” series in 2021 with the goal to amplify the work and the mission of other East End nonprofit organizations by providing a space to have conversations and to build audiences using the cinema’s facility, network and digital presence.

“Ever pondered what goes on in your dog’s mind? It’s a lot more intriguing than you think,” said Kimberly Nichols, Executive Director of ARF. “We’re thrilled to team up with Sag Harbor Cinema for this panel to debunk myths surrounding dogs of all breeds and sizes. This partnership presents an exceptional opportunity to interact with trainers, decipher your furry friend’s language, and meet some of ARF’s adorable adoptables, both dogs and cats.”

“Animals bring joy to the lives of so many people, and we are thrilled to present this ‘Projections’ with our friends from ARF,” said Genevieve Villaflor, Executive Director of Sag Harbor Cinema. “Through this special event, we hope to help demystify the experience of adopting and caring for a pet and hopefully inspire our East End neighbors to open their hearts to new experiences with new furry family members.”

The “Projections” program is free to the public, but space is limited. Reserve a spot to attend this community program at sagharborcinema.org. Sag Harbor Cinema is at 90 Main Street in Sag Harbor.
