In what became a very exciting finish, Riverhead senior Danny O’Neill placed second in 6:27.9 in the junior men’s lightweight division at the CRASH-B Sprints World Indoor Rowing Championship on February 17 at Boston University’s Agganis Arena. It is the highest placement for O’Neill, having placed ninth in the same event last year in 6:35.

A pair of rowers who have roots on the East End will be competing in the 2012 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Trakai, Lithuania. The races started on Wednesday, July 11, and will run through July 15.
