Irving Beller, Owner Of Sybelle Carpet, Dies October 18

Irving Beller, who founded Sybelle Carpet, died Thursday, October 18. He was 85.

Mr. Beller started Sybelle Carpet in Patchogue in 1957 with his cousin and partner, Jerry Beller. He bought the old A&P building on Hampton Road in Southampton in 1975 where he, along with his wife, Sylvia, opened the second location of Sybelle Carpet.

It was then that his son, Phil Beller, joined the partnership, completing three generations in the floor covering industry. In 1984 he built the home furnishing center on County Road 39 in Southampton.

The center was home to Casual Home, which was owned by his daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and Jim Maj. Windows & Walls Unlimited, which is celebrating 27 years in business, is owned by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Paul Nuszen.

Sybelle Carpet still thrives with Phil Beller as owner.

He is survived by his beloved wife, five sons, two daughters, 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
