On Saturday, August 12, the East Hampton Library will present its 19th Annual Authors Night fundraiser at East Hampton’s Herrick Park. One of the most popular and celebrity-studded events of the local summer calendar, Authors Night features 100 authors across all genres. The event has grown over its history to become one of the most successful celebrations of books and authors in America, and one of the largest library-author events of its kind in the country.

“As we mark the 19th anniversary of Authors Night, we’re thrilled to present the event once again in the heart of East Hampton Village,” said East Hampton Library Director Dennis Fabiszak. “We’re thankful to the East Hampton Village Board for facilitating the use of Herrick Park and grateful for the generosity, participation, and support of both the local and literary communities. The funds raised at Authors Night enable the East Hampton Library to provide our diverse community with essential programming and services throughout the year — all free of charge.”

Participating authors this year include: Tessa Bailey, Don Bentley, Geoffrey Berman, Bill Boggs, Patrick Bringley, Alafair Burke, Robert A. Caro, Carmela Ciuraru, Tom Clavin, Misty Copeland, Daisy Alpert Florin, Lauren Graham, Maggie Haberman, Helen A. Harrison, Kristy Woodson Harvey, Robert Hofler, A.M. Homes, Susan Isaacs, Jean Hanff Korelitz, Setha Low, Wesley Lowery, Steve Madden, Annabel Monaghan, David Netto, Crystal Smith Paul, Paulina Poriskova, Prudence Pfeiffer, Jane Rosen, Deborah Goodrich Royce, Sydney Sadick, Ryan Serhant, Jill Santopolo, Viola Shipman, Sally Susman, Rachel L. Swarns, Linda Villarosa, Jann Wenner, Chris Whipple — and many more.

Authors Night will be held under a grand tent on the Herrick Park field at 67 Newtown Lane in East Hampton Village. The evening begins at 5 p.m. with the Authors Reception under the tent, where guests enjoy hors d’oeuvres and wine, meet and mingle with the authors, buy their books and have them personally inscribed.

At 8 p.m., directly following the Authors Reception, guests dine at dinner parties at private area homes in honor of one or more of the guest authors.

Tickets are $150 for the Authors Reception only, and begin at $400 for the dinners (includes entry to book signing reception), available online at authorsnight.org, at the Library, 159 Main Street, East Hampton, or by phone at 631-324-0222.
