Over a dozen young classical musicians will gather at Bay Street Theater on Sunday, March 20 for a 3 p.m. concert to support Katy’s Courage, a non profit dedicated to the memory of Katy Collins Stewart, a Sag Harbor resident who lost her battle to cancer in 2011 at the age of 12.

This year’s concert will feature a number of local musicians and their guests, and include music by Mozart, J.S. Bach, Schumann, Gershwin, Brahms and Chopin. Local students performing on Sunday include Justin Gardiner (piano), Ariana Moustakas (flute) and Christopher Ritter (piano), from Pierson High School. Springs School student Luke Baron will play piano during the program, with Southampton High School Students Julia Kepcyznska (violin), Caleigh Kiembock (violin), Kivlan King (cello), and Sebastian Pereira (viola) also lending their talents to the productions. Pierson graduate, cellist Christopher Beroes-Haigis, who attends Bard College, will also play at the concert, as will Sag Harbor resident Matthew Maimone, who is currently studying at Juliard. Southampton High School graduate and violist Benjamin Pereira will also perform.

The group will be accompanied by Ellen Johansen, Jackson McKinnon and Joseph Hauer, and will be introduced by David Fox, the strings teacher at Sag Harbor Elementary School.

There is a suggested donation of $20 to attend the event. For more information, or tickets, visit katyscourage.org or baystreet.org.
