The Fillmore Auditorium on Second Avenue on the Lower East Side of Manhattan from 1968 to 1971 became the focal point for psychedelic music and counterculture, with the best sound, the best light shows, and a who’s who of the music world taking its stage nightly. Bay Street will celebrate the Fillmore will an evening featuring three bands recreating the sounds of Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin with Big Brother and The Holding Company, and as a small tribute to the late Paul Kantner, of Jefferson Airplane. Expect to see a psychedelic light show, old Fillmore Memorabilia and an introduction to the concert by a few folks who actually worked there. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their best duds from the 1960s and 70s, and dance the night away with Amber Ferrari, The Jimi Hendrix Experience with Joe Cumia, Joe Lauro, Dave Giacone, Carolyn Droscoski, and Feorge Feaster.

Tickets are $30 and available online at www.baystreet.org, or by calling the Bay Street Theater Box Office at (631) 725-9500.
