The Montauk Library and Friends of the Montauk Library will present “An Interview with Author Peter Bové” a virtual program, on December 1 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This talk will feature Peter Bové in a discussion of his new novel, “Montauk Time,” with East End journalist Debbie Tuma. Bové’s previous books include the novel “Dead Lift” and a book of poetry, “Souls Weep: A Voyage in Poetry and Art.”

“Montauk Time” deals with a crew of world-class con artists who head to remote Montauk Point for some R&R after their latest swindle. Learning that highly valuable gems have just been stashed in the vault of the local Chase Bank, they devise an elaborate and audacious scheme to blast the gems out to sea where they can be safely retrieved. In an incredible turn of events, however, they are swept up through a tear in the space-time continuum of the Montauk Project and become transported to the Roaring ’20s where they pull off their greatest con ever

New York-born, Bové is a French-Italian writer with an extensive background as an advertising creative director and producer of TV commercials all over the world and is also a filmmaker, writer, composer, musician, artist, cook and carpenter. He spends summers in Montauk, where he drives a cab for Pink Tuna Taxi, and winters in Dallas, Texas, where he is working on a documentary about the Peyote Ceremony of the Native American Church. “Montauk Time” is his third book.

The discussion is free and open to the public. For information on this virtual event, which will be offered on Zoom, call 631-668-3377 or visit montauklibrary.org. To obtain copies of Peter Bové’s books, visit peterbove.com.
