Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center will present “Tony and The Lady” on Saturday, September 9, at 8 p.m. The show stars Amanda Lee Myers and Larry Liso and it pays tribute to the late Tony Bennett, who died July 21, his music and friendship with Lady Gaga.
Larry Liso does a spot on interpretation of the late legend while Amanda Lee Myers takes on the role of Lady Gaga in “Tony and The Lady.” Together, she and Liso create the ultimate tribute to the storied friendship and music of two musical icons, performing their beloved ballads and standards at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center for one night only.
“What people don’t know about Gaga is what a compassionate soul she is,” says Myers. When she recorded her last record with Tony, he was already being ravaged by Alzheimer’s. She was in tears every day but the show must go on. It’s even more incredible that Tony was able to do one last concert at Radio City Music Hall at 95. We will miss him terribly.”
Larry Liso has been the opening act for Don Rickles, performed with Tony Orlando and with the comedian Gallagher. He was the winner of the Hollywood Fame Awards, Las Vegas in 2019 for “Best New Music Artist of the Year.”
Amanda Lee Meyers is an accomplished triple threat. She has performed professionally around the country in Broadway shows such as “A Chorus Line,” “Annie Get Your Gun” and “Cats.” She studied dance at the famed Alvin Ailey school and acting with Kay Wright.
“With the recent passing of the legendary Tony Bennett, ‘Tony and The Lady’ will be a fitting tribute to his musical legacy and honor the beloved friendship between Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga,” said WHBPAC’s marketing director Heather Draskin.
Tickets to “Tony and The Lady” are $35 to $53 at whbpac.org or 631-288-1500. Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center is at 76 Main Street, Westhampton Beach.
