For one night only, Robert Downey Jr., Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Gweneth Paltrow, Andy Cohen, Kenneth Lonergan, J. Smith-Cameron, Ramy Youssef and many others are coming together for one cause: The Center at West Park.
On Monday, August 25, at 7 p.m. the star-studded cast will take to the Guild Hall stage in East Hampton for a reading of “All the President’s Men,” William Goldman’s Academy Award-winning screenplay, in an effort to help save the New York City-based arts nonprofit from eviction.
Since 2023, the nonprofit Center at West Park has served as managing agent of the landmark West Park Presbyterian Church on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, transforming it into a self-sustaining community and cultural hub. But the church, which has fallen into disrepair, now faces demolition by a developer — unless, perhaps, enough funding is raised in time.
The 1976 film “All the President’s Men” follows Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein as they investigate the Watergate scandal that ultimately led to the August 8, 1974 resignation of President Richard Nixon. The performance, directed by John Benjamin Hickey, will be followed by a talkback with the cast.
Tickets range from $1,000 to $10,000 and are available at centeratwestpark.org/cwphamptons. Tickets priced at $5,000 and above include an invitation to a post-performance garden reception at Guild Hall with cast members and the creative team. All proceeds will support the growth of The Center at West Park and preservation of the West Park Presbyterian Church.
The performance is dedicated to the memory of director Mark Brokaw for his contributions to theater and his efforts to grow The Center at West Park and save the landmark West Park Presbyterian Church. More information is available at centeratwestpark.org.
Guild Hall is located at 158 Main Street, East Hampton.
