Great Caesar’s Ghost has announced the release of its new album, “Dragonfly,” the band’s eighth release since forming in Bridgehampton 11 years ago. The group will perform live tonight, August 13, alongside Butch Trucks, the longtime drummer from the Allman Brothers Band. The show starts at 8 p.m. and tickets are $40 for general admission, $55 for VIP.

“Dragonfly” represents two years of recording following the death of original band member and guitarist Ray Penney in 2012. The band puts their own touches on two Allman Brothers standards, “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” and “Black Hearted Woman,” as well as a rendition of the Grateful Dead classic “St. Stephen.”

Then band, which features Bosco Michne on guitar and vocals, Ed DiCapua on drums, Larry Schmid on slide guitar and vocals, Keith Hill on piano and Hammond B-3 and Klyph Black on bass, also offers up two originals on the new album as well as versions of Neil Young’s “Cortez The Killer” and the Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil.”
