Like to laugh? How about laughing for a good cause?

On Friday, July 12, from 6 to 9 p.m., LTV, the East End’s public access television station, hosts a Super Salon Comedy Benefit and kicks off summer with a celebrity lineup of comedians, a locally-sourced cocktail hour, and a live auction, all to raise funds for the media center.

Headlining the evening will be legendary comedian Elayne Boosler who will be joined by Michele Balan, a finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing.”

Ms. Boosler is best known for her thoughtful and feisty socially conscious humor, and her love of baseball and animals, all of which make up a big part of her act. Since 1996, she has been involved in hands-on animal rescue and advocacy and in 2001 founded Tails of Joy, an all-species animal rescue and advocacy nonprofit organization.

Michele Balan has appeared on “The Joy Behar Show” and Byron Allen’s “Comics Unleashed.” She headlines at clubs across the country, and performs regularly at Caroline’s on Broadway, Gotham Comedy Club and The Comic Strip live.

The Super Salon Comedy Benefit begins with a ‘savory’ cocktail hour, featuring locally sourced food and wine, along with guests on Tia Greene’s lifestyle series “Savour The Moments with Tia and Friends” which airs on LTV.

The comedy show begins at 7 p.m. with LTV’s creative director Angela LaGreca, an East Hampton resident and an award-winning producer and performer, hosting the evening. A live auction follows at 8 p.m. with TV personality, comedian and writer Bill McCuddy, a Bridgehampton resident, serving as auctioneer.

Auction prizes include a private sunset sail charter on the Lelanta, an 82’ schooner, VIP tickets to The Hampton Classic, “The View,” and the Stony Brook Southampton Hospital Summer Party, a private chef for an evening, a three-night getaway at a lake house, a dog grooming and photo package, and an LTV TV production package.

LTV studio is located at 75 Industrial Road in Wainscott. General admission tickets are $100; VIP tickets are $150 and include reserved seating, plus a post-show meet and greet toast with the celebrity guests. Visit ltveh.org to purchase. All proceeds will benefit LTV, Inc.
