Water Mill artist Ann Lombardo presents “A Brush With Time: Notes & Dust Motes,” her second annual solo art show at the Water Mill Museum. The exhibition runs from June 15 to July 2, and will included at least 40 works with many revealed for the first time. For over 15 years, Lombardo’s art has been shown in local art shows, such as the Thirty Squared group. An opening reception for “A Brush With Time” will be held at the Water Mill Museum on Saturday, June 17, from 4 to 6 p.m.

Regarding the title of her exhibition, Lombardo said, “Let me explain. Last year, I painted a large classic oil painting of my own 6-year-old dress. As the painter of my own little dress, well, it unearthed memories of lonely, dreamy sunny days drawing in dust motes suspended on sunbeams while daydreaming on the staircase landing.

“My unique memories from childhood, well, I relished that. After this experience, I wanted to paint more vulnerable, more personal, in subject matter and style.”

Ann Lombardo’s oil paintings are for sale with proceeds benefiting the Water Mill Museum and the energy-saving lighting installed in the gallery as part of ongoing preservation efforts.

Admission to the museum is free. The Water Mill Museum Art Gallery is located at 41 Old Mill Road, Water Mill. For more information visit watermillmuseum.org.
