The nonprofit organization Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild in Cutchogue is hosting a national juried art competition. This year’s theme is “Close to Home.”
Juror Bill Graf, is an award-winning artist and illustrator whose work has been internationally recognized for almost 30 years.
“This is such a great opportunity for local artists to compete with, and be recognized by, other artists nationwide,” says Guild president, painter Bob Kuhne. “Many artists — including art teachers and art students — have a mandatory number of contests they must enter to advance. The Guild is proud to offer this opportunity to artists of all stripes.”
The competition is open to artists age 18 and older. To enter, artists apply at callforentry.org. A fee of $35 covers up to three entries, $5 covers any additional entries. The contest deadline is June 30.
Awards in each category — Fine Art, Photography, Mixed Media (crafts) — are: First place $150; Second place $100; Third place $75.
The Guild will exhibit and sell winning artists’ entries online July 15 to September 15. Old Town Arts and Crafts Guild is located at 28265 Main Road in Cutchogue For more information visit oldtownartsguild.org.
