The Southampton Artists Association (SAA) will host a fundraising art exhibition and opening reception from 1 to 5 p.m. at Southampton Cultural Center on Saturday, October 26, to benefit Heart of the Hamptons.

For this special event, SAA has collected 80 works of art. The show features painting and photography and will run through November 11. All pieces are 10” x 10” and will be sold for $200 each with 50 percent of the proceeds going to Heart of the Hamptons.

Comprising painters, photographers, sculptors and multimedia artists, the members of SAA come together several times a year to exhibit their work at the Levitas Art Gallery in the Southampton Cultural Center. For over 40 years, this organization has offered a place to nurture and support creative minds. These Suffolk county residents, bring to the table a wide variety of professional backgrounds and life experiences. This grassroots organization welcomes all and encourages members to hone their skills, exchange ideas, and inspire one another.

Heart of the Hamptons is far more than a food pantry, although this year alone, more than 300,000 meals have been distributed throughout the area. The organization’s mission is simple — to help those in need with dignity and without discrimination. Heart of the Hamptons provides school supplies and lunches, emergency funds for rental assistance, heating or automobile fuel, utilities and more. The organization serves veterans and seniors in need. This is all made possible by a staff led by Molly Bishop and a team of more than 200 volunteers.

Both organizations hope to make this an annual event. The public is invited to come join in this community effort, enjoy the show and shop for a good cause. Levitas Center for the Arts Gallery at the Southampton Cultural Center is at 25 Pond Lane, across from Agawam Park, in Southampton Village.
