Born in London in 1981, artist Eddie Peake has lived in Jerusalem, Rome and the U.K. His art includes performance, video, photography, painting, sculpture, sound and installation.
On Tuesday, August 13, at 7:30 p.m., The Watermill Center presents “Viewpoints with Eddie Peake.” The artist will discuss his work, which tends to take the form of non-linear, immersive exhibitions, usually presented as a web of incongruously — and yet inextricably connected — discrete objects. Among the focal points of his work is the implicit drama within relationships between people, whether they are familial, professional, romantic, sexual or social, and how desire, sexuality, sociopolitical and cultural constructs, as well as psychological states such as depression impact them.
Mr. Peake, who also works as a DJ under under a pseudonym, runs a record label imprint called Hymn.
Viewpoints is The Watermill Center’s year-round conversation series which gives artists and art enthusiasts the opportunity to gather and discuss creative themes vital to the contemporary moment.
Tickets are $10 at watermillcenter.org. The Watermill Center is located at 39 Watermill Towd Road in Water Mill.
