Arts Alive LI Holds Student Poster Contest

author on Mar 14, 2016

The Long Island Art Alliance is inviting students from prekindergarten through 12th grade, to enter the Arts Alive LI 2016 Poster Contest.

Winning posters will become part of the 2016 Arts Alive LI Commemorative Poster Series and will be exhibited at the Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City through October.

“It is our hope that many of our region’s talented student artists will view this as an opportunity to participate in Arts Month and be featured in their first museum exhibition,” said Theresa Statz-Smith, the executive director of the Long Island Arts Alliance.

The grand prize is a $300 gift certificate. First prize winners in each of three divisions—pre-K through fifth grade, sixth through eighth grade, and ninth through 12th grade—will be awarded $50.

“Long Island Children’s Museum is pleased to highlight the talents of Long Island’s young artists as they celebrate the role of the arts in their lives,” said Suzanne LeBlanc, LICM president. “The exhibit not only focuses attention on the winning artists, but serves as inspiration to our visitors as well.”

The entry deadline is May 25 at 5 p.m.. For poster design guidelines and the entry form, visit artsaliveli.org/poster-contest/.
