Boots on the Ground Theater will hold auditions for “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play” on Monday, October 28, and Tuesday, October 29, at 6:30 p.m. at the Southampton Cultural Center at 25 Pond Lane in Southampton Village.
Adapted by Joe Landry “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play” is set in a 1940s radio studio where actors gather for a live radio version of the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, complete with old time microphones, commercial jingles and live sound effects. James Pritchard directs and the show will feature special guests The Dickens Carolers, costumed carolers to help set the mood for this Victorian Christmas classic.
Actors who are auditioning should prepare their British/cockney/character accents and plan to sing some Christmas carols. Professional singers are not required, just those that can carry a tune. Scripts and songs will be provided at the auditions. Multiple roles will be cast.
Rehearsals will be held Monday to Friday at 6:30 p.m. beginning November 11. Performances are December 6 to 15 on Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m.
