In honor of National Librarians Week and librarians everywhere, on Sunday, April 6, at 2:30 p.m. at Montauk Library, author Elysse Graham will present her book, “Book & Dagger: How Scholars and Librarians Became the Unlikely Spies of World War II.” Her talk will describe the untold story of how academics and librarians became spies for the U.S.A.’s OSS (the precursor of the CIA) and helped turn the tide of war.

Dr. Graham is a historian and professor at Stony Brook University. She is also the author of “The Republic of Games: Textual Culture Between Old Books and New Media,” “A Unified Theory of Cats on the Internet” and “You Talkin’ to Me? The Unruly History of New York English
