On Wednesday, December 9, at 5:30 p.m., join St. Luke's Episcopal Church in East Hampton for a virtual evening of baroque music featuring the English Concert in America (TECA) Fellows. The musicians will play compositions from the Baroque era (1580 to 1750) on original string instruments from the era, such as the theorbo, which is a plucked string instrument in the lute family. The theorbo has an extended neck and a second pegbox. It was used during the Baroque era to play basso continuo accompaniment parts as well as used for solos.

The Fellowship program of TECA, created in association with The Juilliard School's Historical Performance faculty in New York and The English Concert, provides a select group of emerging young performers opportunities to continue to develop artistically at a critical stage in their education. The TECA Fellows concert will be an hour and a half with a 15-minute intermission.

The sextet of musicians include Jude Zilliak and Alana Youssefian on violin, Stephen Goist and Kylie Miller on viola, Oliver Weston on cello and Adam Cokerham on theorbo. Tickets for the virtual concert are $10. To purchase, visit stlukeseasthampton.org.
