In the summer of 2018, Bay Street will launch a new Acting Apprentice Initiative, which adds four acting apprentice interns to Bay Street’s existing summer program, as well as a specifically focused directing/producing internship.

As part of this initiative, all interns will participate in staging a production — which they will direct, perform and design themselves — with a limited run in August following the program from May 20 to August 18, which will include new workshops, training sessions, master classes and team building opportunities.

“All of us at Bay Street are so excited to be expanding our internship program in summer of 2018,” Artistic Director Scott Schwartz said in a press release. “Over 26 years, the Bay Street Theater Internship Program has introduced hundreds of aspiring young theater practitioners to all aspects of the professional theater. Our interns are an integral part of our company. They work closely with award-winning artists and take leadership roles in creating the work on our stage. I couldn’t be more thrilled that in 2018, the Bay Street Internship Program will be even more of a leader in arts education and career development for talented young professionals.”

Available internships include: Artistic Apprentice, Scenic Stagecraft, Lighting and Sound, Wardrobe, Box Office, Arts Administration, and more. Application deadline is February 9. For more information, please visit baystreet.org/page/internships.
