Bay Street Theater will host a special “1930s Night” for its production of “Bonnie & Clyde” on Friday, August 22, at 8 p.m., inviting theatergoers to dress in period attire for a chance to see the show at a throwback price.
Audience members who arrive in 1930s-inspired clothing will be eligible to purchase tickets for just $19.30 — an homage to the era of the notorious outlaw couple depicted in the musical. The discount is only available for walk-up sales at the box office on the night of the performance and is not valid for prior purchases.
“Whether it’s fedoras and flapper dresses or suspenders and vintage prints, we encourage everyone to get creative and have fun with it,” said Tracy Mitchell, executive director of Bay Street Theater. “This event is a way for us to connect with our community and make theater more accessible, while celebrating the history behind the story.”
Originally scheduled to close earlier in the month, “Bonnie & Clyde” has now been extended through August 31 due to popular demand. The musical follows America’s most infamous outlaw duo, with a score that blends blues, gospel and rockabilly, bringing their passionate and dangerous lives to the stage.
