Autumn is here, and concert venues are still closed to in-person programs. But that doesn’t mean the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival (BCMF) is throwing in the towel and going into hibernation. Instead, the BCMF is creating “Fall Series at Home,” a three-concert season of concerts.
The second of the three online fall programs is coming up on Saturday, November 7, from 5 to 9 p.m., and is dedicated to the music of French master Gabriel Fauré. The concert features the composer’s darkly beautiful Piano Quartet in C minor, as well as “Morceau,” three exquisite, rarely heard miniatures for flute and harp, piano and violin, cello and harp. The artists performing the pieces will be BCMF founder Marya Martin, flute; Jennifer Frautschi, violin; Anthony Marwood, violin; Cynthia Phelps, viola; Clive Greensmith, cello; Gilles Vonsattel, piano; and Bridget Kibbey, harp.

Though the concert is free, patrons are asked to support the festival with a donation, not only to support the ongoing work of BCMF, but also the BCMF’s Musician Fund. The pandemic has had a profound impact on the lives of musicians, and the festival feels it must support them in these difficult times.
The final concert of the series will take place on Saturday, December 5, and will feature a blustery program of music featuring winds by Mozart, Elizabeth Brown, and Louise Farrenc.
