"Beachstock" Benefit For WHBPAC

For its annual summer fundraising gala, the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center is taking a trip back to the late ’60s.

That’s right. On Friday, August 16, the actual 50th anniversary of Woodstock, WHBPAC hosts “Beachstock.” The gala will be themed in the manner of Woodstock, with ’70s dress and music from Woodstock ’69 by the band Square Feet. It runs from 7 to 10 p.m., not on Yasgur’s farm, but on the grounds of a beautiful oceanfront estate on Dune Road, and unlike Woodstock, which was basically free, you’ll learn of the address of the location only after purchase of your ticket. Also unlike the original, which ran out of food fairly quickly, you can expect ample food and drink at “Beachstock,” which will be an evening to remember and the closest you can get to the original Woodstock, without the mud and the discomfort.

One hundred percent of proceeds generated from “Beachstock” will benefit WHBPAC’s Nancy & Frederick Dematteis Arts Academy and its mission to service, educate and grow the widest and most diverse audiences, regardless of socioeconomic status, in the performing arts.

Tickets are $300 at whbpac.org or 631-288-1500.
