Bedside Reading, which places a wide variety of complimentary books on bedsides in luxury hotels and boutique properties each summer on the East End, is sharing the love by returning early this year with a variety of Valentine’s Day book candy to be savored by guests of partner hotels. Sugar-covered romances, chewy thrillers and minty wellness books are just some of the offerings to be found at the hotels from February 12-14.

Valentine’s Day weekend books include “Never Say Goodbye” by Kim Sakwa (romance); “Live True” by Ora Nadrich (mental wellness); “A Bend in the River” by Libby Fischer Herrmann (fiction); “Stand Out or Sit Down” by Tenaz Purdy (YA self-help); “Anna Incognito” by Laura Preble (women’s fiction); “Faye, Faraway” by Helen Fisher (Woman’s Fiction/Romance); “The Perfect Blend” by Kathryn Starke (contemporary romance) and the Echoes Trilogy Collection — “Echoes,” “Reverberation” and “Dead Quiet” by A.M. Caplan.

“The Hamptons are our first love,” said Jane Ubell-Meyer, Bedside Reading’s founder. “And we decided to bring our love of reading and some of our favorite authors here a little earlier this year. Reading is a great escape, and we are thrilled that we can share our book candy options for every kind of booklover to engage with their favorite author or book this Valentine’s Day.”

Books are complimentary and can be found at the following East End hotels and inns — In East Hampton: The Baker House 1650, Mill House Inn and The Maidstone Hotel. In Southampton: Southampton Inn and White Fences Inn Water Mill. In Riverhead, Hyatt Place and The Preston House & Hotel.

Additional Bedside Reading weekends are planned including Mother’s Day, Memorial Day, throughout the summer and into the Hamptons International Film Festival weekend.

Books are also available by reservation through The Lucille Khornak Gallery in Bridgehampton (due to limited quantities, it’s best to reserve a weekend Bedside Reading book gift bag by visiting bedsidereading.com). Shipping is also an option.
