Bedside Reading Hosts A Summer Soirée At Southampton Inn

Bedside Reading, which places complimentary books by bedsides in hotels and boutique properties throughout the United States, is celebrating its 20th season in the Hamptons this summer with a special Wine & Sign author event on Wednesday, July 21, at the Southampton Inn in Southampton from 4 to 6 p.m.

Five best-selling authors will be sharing their new summer reads in a soirée complete with wine, food and fun. Open to the public, attendees can enjoy the festivities, meet the authors and receive a signed copy with a purchased book. The event is free with books are available for purchase.

“We are happy to continue providing the best beach reads for the past 20 seasons for vacationers in the Hamptons,” said Jane Ubell-Meyer, founder, Bedside Reading. “We are happy to be partnering with the Southampton Inn and James Lane Post for this event and to share our program with everyone. Bedside Reading continues to be a ‘must-have’ amenity for our local hotel partners offering beachgoers that sought after beach read.”

Participating authors are: Anabelle Bryant, author of “Duchess If You Dare” (historical romance); Amanda M. Fairbanks, author of “The Lost Boys of Montauk” (historical nonfiction); Laurie Gelman, author of “Yoga Pant Nation” (fiction); Debby Kruszewski, author of “Soul Meets Body” (fiction); and Margaret Rodenberg, author of “Finding Napoleon” (historical fiction).

Guests who stay at partner hotels receive complimentary books at the following hotels and inns on the East End: The Baker House 1650, Mill House Inn, The Maidstone Hotel, Huntting Inn, Southampton Inn, Topping Rose House. New to the program this year is MARRAM in Montauk and Journey East Hampton. Complimentary tote bags of books can also be found at the Lucille Khornak Gallery.
